As of March 2021, Delaware is experiencing no abnormally dry or drought conditions, but in the early 2000s, the state was crippled by an extended drought for a full year between 2001–2002. By August 2002, nearly three-quarters of the state was suffering under exceptional drought conditions, the most serious classification possible.
