That’s the story behind “The Truman Show,” where Jim Carrey proved his dramatic acting chops as the leading man who has no idea his life has been filmed since birth. While Carrey didn’t win any awards for the part, Ed Harris earned an Oscar nomination for his role of Christof, the creator of Truman’s world (and TV show). Director Peter Weir and screenwriter Andrew Niccol earned Academy Award nominations for their inventive work on the movie.
