VP of Public Affairs to leave WKU after 18 years

Vice President of Public Affairs Robbin Taylor will be leaving WKU after 18 years and joining McCarthy Strategic Solutions, the firm announced in a press release.

Taylor will join the McCarthy Strategic Solutions team Dec. 1. in Frankfort. 

McCarthy Strategic Solutions is a bi-partisan firm which provides lobbying, public relations and campaign service among others. Taylor worked as a field representative for Sen. Mitch McConnell from 1991 to 2000, according to her biography on WKU’s website.

“The team at McCarthy Strategic Solutions, is an outstanding group of professionals, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to join them,” Taylor said in a press release from MSS.  “I’m looking forward to expanding my focus in legislative advocacy at both the state and federal level.”

Taylor was named Vice President of Public Affairs for WKU in May 2008 and is responsible for oversight and management of WKU Public Broadcasting, Media Relations, Marketing and Communications, Government and Community Relations and WKU’s event offices.

Taylor has served on the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since 2010. She served as Chair of the Board in 2017 and has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2012. Currently she is the Chair of the Bowling Green Economic Development Authority Board of Directors according to a press release from MSS.

“I am thankful for all Robbin has done for WKU in her 18 years with the university and I am particularly grateful for her assistance during my transition and inaugural year as President,” President Timothy Caboni said in a statement. ”We all will miss her talents and wish her well as she embarks on her next adventure.”
