Steven Kraft signs contract with Pittsburgh Pirates

Former WKU baseball player Steven Kraft has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, according to a post on his Instagram

Kraft led the Hilltoppers in batting average his senior year, hitting .382. He also led the team in walks with 29 and hits with 65. He was second on the team with a .483 on-base percentage.

The former Hilltopper played in 44 games his senior year, starting in 42 of them. He hit two home runs, knocked in 33 RBIs and had a slugging percentage of .494.

Kraft is the fourth player from the 2018 team to be picked up by an MLB organization, and the 110th player in program history to sign a professional contract.
