WKU notified students on Friday that the Bowling Green Police Department will be increasing its efforts to enforce parking violations around WKU’s campus this coming semester.

BGPD’s initiative will begin “stepping up parking enforcement” specifically on the 1300-1500 blocks of College, Center, State and Chestnut streets.

The release said the initiative will focus on vehicles that are parked illegally by issuing citations, and drivers who are parked on someone’s private property or blocking a driveway will be subject to towing.

BGPD said that multiple complaints over the past several months are what led to the initiative.

The 1300-1500 blocks of Ogden, Cabell, Indianola and Kenton streets are also mentioned in the release as areas that will be more closely monitored.
