Freshman guard Josh Anderson has been ruled eligible by the NCAA and will play Saturday at Marshall, according to WKU.

“WKU freshman guard Josh Anderson was ruled immediately eligible by the NCAA on Friday,” the program said in a press release Friday. “He is traveling with the team to Marshall and will be available to participate in Saturday’s game.”

Anderson has not played a single game in his freshman season due to eligibility concerns. The 6-6 guard was a consensus four-star, top 60 recruit coming out of high school.

Anderson averaged 18.1 points, 5.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds as a junior at Madison Prep Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

With Anderson’s eligibility cleared up, WKU is still waiting on an eligibility decision from the NCAA for redshirt sophomore forward Moustapha Diagne, who also has not played yet this year.

The Senegal native transferred from Northwest Florida State College, where he averaged 10.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. The 6-9 forward also shot 48.7 percent from the field. ESPN ranked Diagne the No. 58 player in his class coming out of high school.

WKU will take on Marshall Saturday at 6 p.m. It will be their first Conference USA road game this year.
