Point guard Jeremiah Gambrell from the 2018 recruiting class has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for WKU next year.

Gambrell is a versatile 6-1 guard from Houston, Texas. He’s ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 25 player in the state of Texas on the 247 Sports Composite.

“We’re excited to have Jeremiah join our basketball program,” WKU head coach Rick Stansbury said in a statement. “He’s a terrific person from a great family and brings a lot of versatility and ability to shoot the basketball.”

Gambrell is a versatile scorer who averaged 20 points per game in his sophomore and junior seasons of high school. He was the MVP of his district and made an All-State team.

Gambrell was formerly verbally committed to Baylor, but de-committed on Oct. 6. While WKU has other verbal commits in their 2018 class, Gambrell is the first to sign a letter of intent.
