Kacy Caboni, wife of Tim Caboni, WKU’s incoming president, has been named director of principal gifts and special initiatives in the university’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations.

Kacy Caboni has over 13 years of experience with higher education fundraising and contributed to multiple capital campaigns at University of Kansas and Kansas State University, according to a WKU news release. Caboni last worked as development director and team leader for the University of Kansas Endowment Association with a focus on fundraising for KU’s School of Business.

John Paul Blair, interim vice president of development and alumni relations, said during the recruitment of Tim Caboni that the Board of Regents realized Kacy Caboni had significant experience and wanted to include her at WKU.

“WKU has former development team members whose careers have led to positions in the SEC, Big Ten and Big 12, so we are delighted to gain Kacy’s 13 years of experience with two exceptional Big 12 institutions in the University of Kansas and Kansas State University,” Blair said in a news release. “Kacy has a strong record of fostering philanthropic outcomes and we are excited by the impact she will have working with alumni and friends to help shape WKU’s future through their private support.”

Caboni’s position as director of principal gifts and special initiatives is a new, part-time position with a salary of $35,000. Blair said Caboni’s role as spouse of the president will complement her new position and the connections she makes can enhance alumni development.

Caboni will start the position on Monday and will work on gaining private support from WKU benefactors and prospective donors.
