Graduate unsure about future

As his friends and family gathered in E.A. Diddle Arena, Eric Smith walked down the arena’s hallway holding his graduation cap.

The 21-year-old London native said he had yet to feel much excitement about graduating.

“It’s kind of frightening,” Smith said.

Smith will graduate with a degree in a business management, an area he originally did not plan on studying. He said he entered WKU intent on studying computer science; however, he soon realized he did not want to spend the rest of his life writing code.

“I switched to something I was good at,” Smith said, referring to business management.

When Smith walks out of Diddle today with his diploma in hand, he will be walking into a future of uncertainty.

Smith does not have any concrete plans after graduation, but he said he has some idea of what he wants to. It will not be coding, he said.
