Partners in Caring

WKU sophomore Jonathan Greene, 19, congratulates school kids after a successful session of yard games. Students in the Partners in Caring: Medicine in Kenya program had the opportunity to spend an afternoon leading activities at local schools.

Over the course of two-and-a-half weeks, students in the Partners in Caring: Medicine in Kenya program traveled thousands of miles to volunteer in health clinics in Kasigau, Kenya. The program provided a unique learning experience for undergraduate students pursuing careers in the medical field. Students gained hands-on training in health clinics, volunteered in schools and experienced local life during their stay in Kenya. “I think having that perspective definitely makes us smarter and makes us more aware,” sophomore Jonathan Greene, 19, said. “And it makes us, as students, more willing to put in the work and put in the time to try to make a difference.”
