We budgeted for 1,062 returning scholarship recipients in FY 2015 based on historical retention data.

We enrolled 1,014 returning scholarship recipients—a decrease of 48 returning students over projected numbers.

We are projecting 1,512 returning scholarship recipients in FY 2016 —an increase of 450 over FY 2015 budget.

We budgeted for 844 new freshmen and transfer scholarship recipients in FY2015 based on historical yield data.

We actually enrolled 985 new freshmen and transfer scholarship recipients—an increase of 141 new scholarship acceptances over projected numbers.

We are projecting 1,120 new freshmen and transfer scholarship acceptances in FY 2016—an increase of 276 over FY 2015 budget.

Dollars

We budgeted $14,055,000 for academic scholarships in FY 2015.  We are projecting that we will need $18,676,000, an increase of $4,621,000 for FY 2016.  A change in federal requirements allows us to redirect the military scholarship budget to bring the increase for academic scholarships to$3,878,000.

Scholarship award including instate tuition, room, meals and a book stipend is estimated to cost $16,504 a year in FY 2016, an increase of 2.8 percent.
