WKU redshirt senior quarterback Brandon Doughty and redshirt junior defensive back Wonderful Terry were named Conference USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week respectively, the league announced Monday.

Doughty connected for 23 of 34 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns on the weekend, notching his seventh 300-yard game of the season and his third offensive player of the week honor.

Through the first nine games of the season, Doughty has already rewritten the WKU single-season record books, tallying 268 completions, 3,329 yards, and 28 touchdown passes.  He ranks top three amongst all FBS quarterbacks in each of these categories.

Two of his touchdowns came in the last 18 minutes of the game as part of WKU’s 21 point comeback against UTEP, leading his offense on back-to-back 70-yard touchdown drives.

Wonderful Terry scored his third defensive touchdown on the season and second defensive player of the week honor as a result of his 90-yard interception return for a touchdown that gave WKU a 28-27 lead early in the fourth quarter. WKU leads the nation with five defensive touchdowns this season.

Terry was also named an honorable mention for the National Defensive Back of the Week award by the College Football Performance Awards.
