Doughty named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week

After breaking three school records in WKU’s 59-31 win Friday night over Bowling Green State, quarterback Brandon Doughty has been voted the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.

Doughty completed 46 of 56 passes for 569 yards and six touchdowns.

Doughty and the Hilltopper offense broke six FBS school records in the season opener: 708 total yards of offense, 59 points, 40 first downs, single-game touchdown passes (6), single-game passing yards (569) and single-game completions (46).

With only Louisville and Miami still to play tonight, Doughty leads the NCAA in passes completed, passing yards and passing touchdowns.

WKU leads the country in passing offense and ranks third in total offense behind Nebraska and Arizona.

WKU travels to Illinois to play the Fighting Illini at 11:00 a.m. CT.
