Harrison-Docks hits game winner, Toppers defeat South Alabama 58-56

WKU freshman guard Chris Harrison-Docks sunk the game-winning shot with just under four seconds as the Toppers beat South Alabama 58-56 in their first Sun Belt Conference game of the year.
 
Harrisson-Docks finished the game with 11 points, scoring the Toppers last five points of the game. Junior guard T.J. Price led all scorers with 19 points. He also collected six rebounds and dished out three assists.
 
The Toppers trailed by eight points four different times, but with just over a minute remaining, Harrison-Docks knocked down a long range shot, giving the Toppers a two-point lead.
 
USA’s Mychal Ammons scored on a post move to tie the game at 56. WKU called a timeout with 29.2 seconds remaining and the ball in its possession with a chance to win.
 
Harrison-Docks took the ball with just over 10 seconds left, crossed from his left hand to his right, got into the paint and netted a flip shot giving the Toppers a two-point lead with just 3.7 ticks left.
 
USA’s turn around jumper fell short as the Toppers escaped Mobile, Al. with their first conference win of the year.
 
WKU (9-5, 1-0 Sun Belt) will continue conference play as it travels to Troy, Ala. Thursday to take on the Trojans for a noon tipoff.
