Armed robbery at Poland Hall

An armed robbery is reported to have occurred at Poland Hall at around 2 p.m. on today.

According to a WKU text alert, four black males, one wearing a red hoodie, another wearing a red t-shirt and gym shorts, are suspected of having committed a robbery at knife point.

A WKU alert message sent a few minutes prior stated three robbery suspects, all black males wearing black and one armed with a silver pistol, were seen on Cherry Way. The message stated the men were heading towards campus.

A follow-up message states the alert was sent out in error and that only one robbery, at Poland Hall, has occurred.

Bob Skipper, director of media relations, said the false alert was an earlier text alert from November, accidentally sent out by WKU Police Department dispatch.
