Senior forward O’Karo Akamune has been sidelined all year with a broken foot, but the senior could return as soon as two weeks from now.

Harper said after the game that Akamune would return “for sure when we get back from Christmas” and said that the team “desperately needs” him.

Akamune, known for his defensive prowess, played in 36 games last year, averaging three points and three rebounds on 52 percent shooting from the floor.

“That adds a lot of depth to us in the post,” Harper said. “Right now we’re trying to play with Aaron (Adeoye) and George (Fant) and Alex (Rostov), we need another guys to be able to step in there and play. O’Karo is a senior who’s played a lot of minutes the last two years and we’re expecting him to come back and really help us.”
