WKU student Melanie Reichert dies after falling down stairs

A WKU student has died after receiving injuries after falling down a set of stairs.
Melanie Reichert, a student from Louisville, was injured after falling down a set of concrete stairs at 9:15 p.m at the 1200 block of Park Street on Saturday night, according to Ronnie Ward, public information officer for Bowling Green Police Department. She was taken to the Medical Center Saturday night, where she died of her injuries on Sunday.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
A fundraiser set up in Melanie’s name has raised more than $3,000.
A Facebook page dedicated to her memory has also been created where friends are sharing pictures, videos and memories of Reichert. The page currently has 770 likes.
