Former WKU running back Bobby Rainey saw the end zone in the NFL for the first time Monday night as he helped lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a win.
Rainey scored on a one-yard run with 10:19 to go in the game against the Miami Dolphins to help give his team a 22-19 lead. The Buccaneers would hold that lead to the end of the game and earn the first win of their season.
Rainey finished the game with 45 rushing yards and a score on eight carries and also had an 11-yard reception in the fourth quarter. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked up their first win of the season at home against the Dolphins.
The running back currently plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but has also seen time with the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens since graduating from WKU in 2012. He finished his Topper career as WKU’s all-time leader in career rushing yards.
