WKU softball coach Amy Tudor named former Valparaiso Crusader K.C. Boldt as an assistant coach on Tuesday.

Prior to being hired to the Lady Topper staff, Boldt was an assistant coach at Valparaiso for two seasons, where she set single-season records for home runs and RBI’s.

She graduated from Valparaiso in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in sports administration two years later.

Boldt said she’s elated to have the opportunity to help coach a team with championship expectations, per a Tuesday press release.

“I am excited for the opportunity to continue working with a championship-caliber team here at WKU,” Boldt said. “I’m looking forward to starting what I know will be a very rewarding and fulfilling coaching position.”

Boldt helped lead the Lady Crusaders to Horizon League conference championships and NCAA Regional appearances in back-to-back seasons.

Last year’s Lady Toppers notched a win over Boldt’s Vaparaiso team 3-0 in the first game of the Holiday Inn Hilltopper Classic at Buchanon Park.
