Board of Regents to meet Friday for committee meetings

The Board of Regents will meet on Friday for committee meetings in the Cornelius A. Martin Regents Room in Mass Media and Technology Hall to discuss contracts and the approval of new majors and minors.

Numerous items will be discussed including the contract approval for softball coach Amy Tudor, approval to create a Department of Psychological Sciences, and approvals of Chinese and Arabic undergraduate majors and minors.

Gordon Emslie, vice president and provost, will deliver an enrollment report to the board. The board will also discuss a new employment agreement for Deborah Wilkins, chief of staff and general counsel for the university.

The committee meeting will start at 9 a.m. A break will occur at approximately 10:30 a.m. in order for the regents to take a tour of the Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex.

During the committee meetings, members of each respective committee will vote and discuss on items pertaining to their committee.

If the items discussed are approved, they are sent to the main Board of Regents to be voted on during the quarterly meetings.

The next quarterly meeting will be held on October 25, 2013.
