A couple of local celebrities were featured on the front page of Thursday’s USA Today sports page.

Football coach Bobby Petrino was the subject of a centerpiece story by USA Today writer George Schroeder on Thursday. The story followed Petrino and how the coach, who was hired in December, has adjusted to the new job.

WKU mascot Big Red was also featured next to the USA Today logo at the top of the page. The USA Today logo changes daily based on content published on that day.

Petrino and the Toppers will kick of the new football season on Aug. 31 against Kentucky in Nashville.
