BRIEF: Power outages scheduled in coming weeks

A planned power outage is scheduled for July 19 for two hours on WKU’s campus.

From 1:30 p.m. to about 3:30 p.m., a the scheduled power outage will affect nine structures on the southern half of campus to make final connections for a redundant power feed from the BGMU electrical substation circuits according to Ben Johnson, assistant director of Planning Design and Construction.

The following buildings will be affected:

  • Diddle Arena
  • Parking Structure 2
  • Smith Stadium
  • Downing Student Union
  • Central Chilled Water Plant
  • Academic Complex
  • Health Services Building
  • Mass Media & Technology Hall
  • Gary Ransdell Hall

Power outages are also scheduled for the same weekend at Potter Hall, followed by the next weekend at Garrett Conference Center then at Cherry Hall as part of the High Voltage Project the Herald reported on earlier in the summer.
