WKU fullback Jones arrested on drug charge
July 23, 2013
WKU senior fullback Kadeem Jones was arrested July 13 for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, the Bowling Green Daily News reported Wednesday morning.
According to the Warren County Regional Jail’s website, Jones, 21, spent four hours in jail and was released at 7:33 a.m. on $588.85 bond.
An arrest citation from the Bowling Green Police Department indicates Jones was parked in a 2006 Dodge Charger at College Suites Apartments on Campbell Lane.
Jones and another person, Andrew Jackson, who was not arrested, had admitted to smoking marijuana within the past 10 minutes of the officer approaching the vehicle.
It is not confirmed that Jackson, the other person in the car, is the same person who shares the same name as the senior linebacker for WKU.
Kyle Neaves, WKU director of athletic communications, said today in a news release, “We are aware of the situation and are gathering more information.”
Jones is scheduled to appear in court on Aug 5, the same day WKU begins fall practice for the 2013 season.
Last year for the Hilltoppers, Jones rushed 17 times for 84 yards and three scores. In the receiving game, he hauled in 14 catches for 180 yards and three touchdowns.
