WKU will be the next school to make the jump from the Sun Belt Conference to Conference USA.

WKU is expected to make the announcement Monday, according to the Bowling Green Daily News, and would officially join the conference in 2014, in time for the 2014-15 athletic year.

The move would end a run in the Sun Belt Conference that began in 1982, though WKU did not participate in Sun Belt football until 2009 after making the jump to becoming a Football Bowl Subdivision school.

The announcement comes on the heels of the decision by Tulsa to leave C-USA for the Big East Conference.

WKU would join former Sun Belt members Middle Tennessee, Florida International, Florida Atlantic and North Texas in C-USA in 2014. The conference also includes Marshall, Rice, Louisiana Tech, Charlotte, Old Dominion, Southern Mississippi, Texas-El Paso, Texas-San Antonio, and Alabama-Birmingham.
