Middle Tennessee, Florida Atlantic heading to C-USA a year early

This season will be the last for Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic in the Sun Belt Conference, according to reports.
MTSU and FAU will join Conference USA in time for the start of the 2013-14 athletic year, making this the last season of Sun Belt play for both schools.
The two schools are expected to officially join C-USA on July 1. An official announcement is expected sometime next week.
The departure of MTSU and FAU leaves the Sun Belt with eight football teams next season. WKU will join returning members Arkansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, South Alabama and Troy as well as new members Georgia State and Texas State.
