WKU’s thin roster has taken a hit.

Coach Michelle Clark-Heard announced on Wednesday that junior guard Bianca McGee won’t be eligible to play until after the fall semester because of the NCAA’s Six-Hour Rule.

Per the NCAA, “all transfer student-athletes are required to complete six hours of credit (semester or quarter hours) during the previous term of full-time enrollment.”

McGee graduated in the spring from Kilgore (Texas) College where she averaged nearly 13 points a game, five rebounds, and three assists with the Rangers.

Heard said the rule wasn’t caught until after McGee graduated.

“That’s just the issue,” Heard said. “She has to sit out for a semester, but she’ll be back as soon as our semester is over and we get her grades in.”

Because of McGee’s ineligibility and freshman guard LeAsia Wright’s thumb injury, WKU will have just nine players available when it takes on Harding University Friday in the team’s first exhibition.
