The Lady Toppers filled the stat sheet with double digits against Duke and Michigan.  Jordyn Skinner earned a double-double after 15 kills and 11 digs versus the Lady Blue Devils.  Melanie Stutsman also posted a double-double with 50 assists and 11 digs.

With Duke up 7-4 early in the first set, freshmen Noelle Langenkamp posted two kills and a block assist to tie the set at eight.  The teams went on to tie 16 more times before Duke earned a 31-29 set win.

The Lady Toppers used 14 team kills to defeat Duke in the second set 25-23, tying the score at one heading into halftime.

WKU used an early 6-0 to jump start what would be a dominating third set for the Lady Toppers.  WKU only allowed Duke to close the gap by four points the entire set.  Senior Rogers topped off an 8-1 run at the end of the set with an ace to give WKU its first match lead of the day with a 25-14 win.

Duke took its first lead of the fourth frame by advancing on a three kill-streak to lead 17-16.  However, the Lady Toppers rallied on a 9-1 run to win set 25-19, and a 3-1 win over Duke.

WKU and Michigan fought a back and forth first set in which the Lady Wolverines never gave up the lead en route to a 25-22 victory over the Lady Toppers.

WKU found a comfortable early lead versus Michigan 10-2 with the help from three kills from Heather Boyan.  The Lady Toppers put up 12 kills and four aces to take the second set 25-14.

After taking the third frame 25-16, the Lady Toppers found themselves in a hole early in the fourth set down 6-1 and couldn’t climb out, allowing Michigan to tie the game with a 25-23 set win.

WKU competed in its first fifth set of the year.  Haley Bodway’s three consecutive kills gave WKU an early 5-3 lead. A block from Boyan and Paige Wessel gave the Lady Toppers a 15-11 final set win, and their second win of the season against a top 25 team.

Skinner once again added another double-double performance to her career with 19 kills and 10 digs against Michigan.  Bodway followed with 15 kills and Wessel with 12.  Stutsman also had an outstanding performance, putting up a season high 54 assists versus the Lady Wolverines.

WKU will conclude the tournament Saturday when they take on Eastern Michigan at 3 p.m. CDT.
