WKU women’s basketball announced their schedule for the upcoming season on Wednesday.

The Lady Toppers’ season begins on Nov. 2 in Diddle Arena when WKU plays an exhibition against Divsion II opponent Harding University.

The regular season will tip off later that month with a road opener against Murray State on Nov. 9.

WKU will then play three straight at Diddle, taking on Northern Kentucky, Sun Belt Conference opponent Florida International, and Illinois State. The home opener against NKU is set for Nov. 17.

Another highlight on the schedule is a home game against regional rival Vanderbilt. The Commodores finished last season 23-10, with a 9-7 Southeastern Conference record.

WKU will participate in the Wright State Tournament in Dayton, Ohio on Dec. 19 and 21.

The Lady Toppers will face Wright State on Dec. 19 and either St. Francis (Pa.) or Florida A&M on Dec. 21.

Other non-conference opponents include in-state foe Morehead State, Kent State and Southeast Missouri State.

The Lady Toppers will also close out their season at home against last year’s Sun Belt champion, Middle Tennessee State, on March 2.

First-year coach Michelle Clark-Heard said in a release that she was enthusiastic about this year’s schedule.

“We have an exciting home schedule that I think our fans will enjoy, as well as a number of regional rivalries that will make for an exciting atmosphere every night we step out on the court,” she said.
