WKU target Bryndon Williams has high expectations to live up to in his family as he approaches his senior season.

A junior athlete from Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, Ind., Williams has family members that have played different Division I sports across the nation.

The Class of 2013 prospect is a cousin to Arkansas volleyball player Jasmine Norton, Texas football player Jared Norton and Miami women’s basketball player Sylvia Bullock.

Like his family members before him, Williams has drawn interest from a large number of schools.

His current list includes WKU, Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona State, Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue, Western Michigan, Yale, Harvard and Dartmouth.

After a visit to WKU’s campus, the 5-foot-10, 195-pound Williams said the Toppers are high on his list.

“The campus was great, I really felt at home,” Williams said. “Everyone I met was really nice. It seemed genuine.”

He said Head Coach Willie Taggart made a big impression on him, especially after watching the team practice.

“The practice I attended was real uptempo, which I like,” Williams said.  “It was real rowdy, which is just how I am at practice.”

He said schools are recruiting him at a couple of different positions, including running back and linebacker.

“I’m knowledgeable about the game, and I’ve got a good mix of size and speed,” Williams said. “I’m just really competitive, I hate to lose but if I do I learn from it.”

Williams said he has plans to visit Michigan State in a couple weeks, and wants to visit Arizona State eventually as well.

But he said he’s not going to forget about WKU anytime soon.

“I’ll say this much, don’t be surprised to see me in Bowling Green more.” Williams said.
