Louisville Central running back Anthony ‘Ace’ Wales announced his decision to play for WKU and Head Coach Willie Taggart at a signing ceremony on Wednesday.

Wales, a former Louisville Central High School standout, committed to Louisville in January but visited WKU later in the month.

The Louisville Courier-Journal reported earlier that Central Head Coach Ty Scroggins said Tuesday he would be “surprised” if Wales didn’t sign and then gray shirt at Louisville.

Per NCAA rules, Wales would wait to enroll at Louisville until the spring semester of 2013.

Wales gave the following quote to WHAS-11 in Louisville:

“If Charlie Strong is going to keep going to Florida to get his players, us Louisville players are going to go to WKU.”
