The Student Government Association’s second meeting of the semester focused on upcoming events and announcements, as there was no new business or legislation to be discussed.

SGA reminded students that the Rally for Higher Education is next Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m. EST in Frankfort at the Kentucky Capitol Rotunda.

There will be no SGA meeting next Tuesday due to the rally.

Student guest speaker Sam Stinson attended the meeting to talk about Toast Masters, a group that “encourages speakers in the craft and art of speaking.”

Stinson said oration is something that has to be practiced and invited interested students to come to a meeting about Toast Masters next Tuesday in DUC 349 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Other announcements from the SGA meeting are as follows:

• An SGA-sponsored baseball game will be March 25 at 1 p.m.

• The applications for the public relations director and committee head positions are due Friday.

• The deadline for Scholar Development, Study Away, and Student Teach Abroad applications is April 7.

• SGA is also continuing work on the off-campus housing website.
