Kendrick Bryan, Student Government Association’s executive vice president, is running for state representative. Bryan officially declared his candidacy for state representative and mailed in his forms today.

Bryan is running as a Democrat and a self-funded candidate for District 25 in Hardin County. Bryan is currently running against the incumbent Rep. Jimmie Lee, a Democrat, and Glenn Fonda, also a Democrat.

“We might have the only three-person race in the state,” Bryan said.

Lee has served the Elizabethtown district since 1993.

Bryan doesn’t have much more to do regarding Frankfort except keep them up to date on his campaign expenses.

Bryan told his fellow SGA executive officers on Tuesday night about running for office. He said they were encouraging and optimistic. Bryan said he told Charley Pride, director of Student Activities and Organizations, who was also supportive.

Bryan is going to run a very aggressive door-to-door and telephone campaign. He said he would love to have WKU students help with his campaign and anyone who is interested can contact him through Facebook or email.
