At the first Student Government Association meeting of the semester Tuesday night, which lasted roughly 10 minutes, the following was discussed:
SGA announced that the Rally for Higher Education is coming up in two weeks on Feb. 7. There is an RSVP on SGA’s website to attend the rally in Frankfort. SGA’s Executive Vice President Kendrick Bryan said he would like to be involved in the upcoming federal elections in November by possibly sending students to the Democratic and Republican national conventions. New applications for study abroad and scholar development are now on the SGA website. President Billy Stephens said the Downing University Center steering committee will soon be meeting. Another announcement made at the meeting was that, due to excessive absences last semester, the attendance policy will be more strictly enforced. The director of public relations position is now vacant and SGA is looking for a replacement for the previous director, Jane Wood.
