An article posted online on Sunday by the Bradenton (Fla.) Herald reports that cornerback Brian Poole is still set on his verbal commitment to the University of Florida, despite a late push from WKU.

Poole visited WKU the weekend of Dec. 9 and was also paid an in-home visit by WKU Head Coach Willie Taggart shortly before Christmas, which Poole said went well.

Poole also sent out several tweets on his personal Twitter account mentioning current WKU players after his official visit, thanking them for a great weekend.

But according to the article, Poole is still committed to becoming a Florida Gator.

A verbal commitment does not bind an athlete to their chosen school, only a signed letter of intent. Poole still plans to make official visits to other schools before National Signing Day on Feb. 1.

Poole is the eighth ranked cornerback in the nation according to Rivals.com. He also had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame, among many others.
