Governor Steve Beshear made the final stop of his Tested, Trusted, Tough tour in Bowling Green Friday.

The tour was the final stop of the campaign trail before elections on Nov. 8, and included Treasurer Todd Hollenbach.

“We’ve got four days until we cross that final finish line,” said Alison Lundergan Grimes, candidate for Secretary of State. “We are the team, we are the ticket of sound solutions about moving this state forward.”

The candidates all put great emphasis on teamwork.

“As we are coming out of this recession, our potential is unlimited if we keep the momentum going,” Beshear said. “And to keep the momentum going, we need this ticket in Frankfort.”

Another thing the candidates all spoke about was making sure people get to the polls on Tuesday to vote.

“The pundits are betting against each and every one of us. They think, ‘These Democrats , they think they’ve got it locked up but nobody’s going to show up at the polls on election day,'” Grimes said. “Is that going to happen?”

The crowd of more than 50 people enthusiastically responded, “No!”

The WKU College Democrats came out to show their support for the candidates.

“I’m excited about all of the candidates,” Casey County senior Kevin Asbury said. “We have a great ticket.”

Asbury is president of the College Democrats, which raises awareness on campus about Democratic issues. The group also volunteered throughout the campaign by making phone calls or going door to door asking for support.
