Two bills were passed Tuesday night at the Student Government Association’s meeting.

SGA passed a bill to fund the library’s extended hours during finals week. The bill will allocate $600 to Helm-Cravens Library to keep the library open until 2 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday of finals week. This is something SGA does every year.

The second bill SGA passed was an Organizational Aid bill that will allocate $2,500 total to the Student Affairs Graduate Association, MBA Student Association, Topper Well, WKU Eco-Club, WKU Black Graduate Student Association and Kappa Alpha Psi.

Three other bills received their first reads. They were for Scholar Development Grant Award Allocations, Study Abroad Scholarship Award Allocations and Student Teach Abroad Award Allocations.

SGA is hosting Dine with Decision Makers on Thursday and reminded everyone to RSVP on the website before the dinner so they will be able to create a seating chart and provide enough food. The free event will be in Downing University Center’s Cupola Room at 6 p.m.

This is the first year that President Gary Ransdell and Robbin Taylor, vice president for Public Affairs, will be at the dinner.

SGA also wanted to remind students of Rally for Higher Education, which will be Feb. 7 in Frankfort. The governor usually speaks at the event and legislators attend. SGA will be ordering a bus for transportation to the event.
