The WKU women’s basketball team fell to 0-3 on the year after an 80-54 loss to No. 8 Duke (3-0) on Sunday at Diddle Arena.

Freshman guard Danay Fothergill and forward Chasity Gooch led the way for the Lady Toppers with 11 points each.

However, turnovers severely hurt the Lady Topper’s chances throughout the game. WKU turned the ball over 35 times, leading to 40 points for the Blue Devils off of the mistakes.

Duke used a 14-0 run late in the first half to pull away from the Lady Toppers and held it comfortably for the remainder of the game.

The Lady Toppers never had a lead in the game.
