WKU announced on Friday that 4,049 students attended the Toppers’ 14-3 loss to Kentucky at L.P. Field.

Overall attendance was announced as 24,599 at the stadium that seats more than 68,000. The crowd would’ve been over capacity at WKU’s home field, Smith Stadium, by 2,486 seats.

As low ticket sales were reported, WKU lifted its student attendance cap last week from 4,000 to allow anyone with a student ID into the game free.

Housing and Residence Life, in conjunction with the Campus Activities Board and Student Government Association, on Thursday sent four busloads of students who live on campus to Nashville.

After playing in Lexingont next season, WKU will again host UK in Nashville in 2013.
