Senior forward Mallory Outerbridge has been recognized yet again by the Sun Belt Conference for her performance on the field.

After being named to the preseason all-Sun Belt Conference team, Outerbridge was named the Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week on Tuesday — her second time earning the honor.

“She’s such a talented player and she can really be a difference maker,” Head Coach Jason Neidell said. “We know she can be a difference maker and we know that she can score goals like she does. This weekend she put in a pretty good performance both attacking and defensively.”

Outerbridge scored four goals and had one assist in two games this weekend against Belmont and Eastern Michigan. In doing so, she passed Jenna Silverberg as WKU’s all-time leader in career points with 74.

After the weekend, she’s tied for the Sun Belt lead with 14 points and six goals through six games.

“This weekend she just took it upon herself and put the team on her shoulders and really lead this team to victory in both games,” Neidell said. “I’m really really proud of her performances this weekend.”

WKU (5-2) plays Rice this Saturday in Houston.

The Lady Toppers will open up Sun Belt play next weekend at North Texas and at Denver.
