The Student Government Association passed the bill for the funding of last week’s Cage the Elephant concert this Tuesday at the weekly senate meeting.

They also talked about the Board of Regents meeting coming up this Friday. The plans for the Downing University Center renovations will be unveiled at the BOR meeting. Following that, SGA will host an unveiling at DUC from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will be set up like a forum so students will be able to learn more about the renovations.

One presidential appointment was made during the meeting and the new senators were sworn in.

Other items discussed at the meeting were transcript vouchers, Study Abroad and Teach Abroad applications, and that SGA now has scantrons and blue books available for free in their office.

A lot of events are coming up for SGA. The football game they are sponsoring is this Saturday, along with the tailgating event they are also sponsoring. You can still go online to the SGA website to register for a tailgating spot.

Another upcoming event is Campus Cleanup that is Oct. 11 from 4 to 5 p.m. Service credit will be offered.

On Oct. 15 the SGA retreat will be held at the Institute for Citizenship & Social Responsibility from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Oct. 15-22 is homecoming week. SGA elected Katie Stillwell as its homecoming queen nominee.
