SGA cancels first meeting of semester

WKU’s Student Government Association on Tuesday canceled its first scheduled meeting of the semester.

The meeting was scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, as will be the rest of the SGA’s meetings this semester. Agenda materials aren’t made available before meetings, so it’s unknown what would have been discussed.

President Billy Stephens made the decision in order to give senators an extra week to plan.

Another reason for moving the first meeting to next week is “to create a meet and greet open session for people interested in joining SGA in this fall’s elections,” Stephens said.

He said SGA is also “attempting to have a couple guest speakers welcome everyone back.”

Speakers for SGA’s next meeting, set for Sept. 6, have not yet been confirmed.
