One of WKU’s focal points in recruiting last season was at point guard, and it looks as if the coaching staff is recruiting the position again this year.

Jacobby Bledsoe, a class of 2012 point guard from Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), said WKU offered him a scholarship last year and he remains “very interested” in the Toppers.

“I liked it a lot,” Bledsoe said. “It’s really nice down there. I like all the coaches. It’s a pretty good relationship. I’m supposed to go down there and visit some time soon.”

Bledsoe took a visit to campus last year when WKU played Indiana in football. He said he’s not sure when his next visit will happen, but added that he’s eager to get back to the Hill.

“I’m looking forward to that and getting closer to (the coaches),” he said.

Bledsoe, who’s listed at 5-9 and 150 pounds, said he’ll soon be visiting Ball State, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan — all of which have offered him a scholarship.

Colorado State, Dayton, Drake and Oregon State have also offered him scholarships, according to his Rivals.com page.

Bledsoe said he plans on visiting Indiana as well, although the Hoosiers haven’t officially offered him a scholarship.

There’s definite interest in WKU for Bledsoe, but the guard said he’s not sure yet how that interest stacks up against the other schools recruiting him.

“Me and my dad are supposed to sit down and talk about that,” he said. “We haven’t really made up our mind about that yet. I’m very interested in Western, as well as all the other colleges, but I want to go on another visit, see how I like it and rank it based upon that.”

Bledsoe said he’ll likely have a decision made before the high school basketball season and plans on signing during the NCAA’s Fall Signing Period.
