UPDATED: Motorcyclist dies after crash outside College High Hall

An unidentified motorcyclist crashed Friday outside of College High Hall on College Heights Boulevard. The man, bleeding from the head, was transported from the scene by ambulance.

UPDATED: According to WBKO, Branden Lutz, 33, died as a result of injuries suffered in his motorcycle crash Friday outside of College High Hall.

Lutz, who was flown to a trauma center after the accident, was not a WKU student.

ORIGINAL: A motorcyclist was taken away in an ambulance shortly after 5 p.m. Friday following his crash in front of College High Hall on College Heights Boulevard.

The bike ended up about 10 feet from the building and about 30 feet from the rider, who was lying in a pool of blood.

“For a split second, I saw the bike flying,” said Colin Perschbacher, one of at least four known witnesses to the accident.

First responders took the motorcyclist, bleeding from the head, to an unknown hospital. The rider had a pulse at the time.

A helmet was not among the bike’s wreckage strewn about the lawn.

Bowling Green and campus police at the scene declined comment.

As of 8 p.m. CT Friday, the section of College Heights Boulevard near State Street remained closed.
