Less than a week after former baseball coach Chris Finwood officially took the same job at Old Dominion University, the search for Finwood’s replacement at WKU is under way.

Athletic Director Ross Bjork said Friday that the search is “moving along fast” and going smoothly.

Bjork said the search is now in the information-gathering phase. He plans to reach out to potential candidates next week when the search “really gears up.”

Bjork, who declined to list possible candidates at this point, hopes to have position filled as soon as possible but said there is no definite timetable.

While he hopes the search will be timely, Bjork said it will be filled when the right person for the job is found.

The availability of potential candidates to meet in the upcoming weeks is a factor that will affect when the position is filled, Bjork said.
