WKU to add new wireless network next month

WKU faculty, staff and students will have a more seamless and secure way to access the Internet beginning June 1.

“WKU-SECURE” will be available at the Bowling Green, Glasgow, Owensboro, Elizabethtown and Radcliff campuses, in addition to “WKU-WIRELESS” and “WKU-GUEST.”

In order to access the secure network, users will have to install a software application called Cisco Network Access Control. This program ensures that virus protection on the user’s computer is up-to-date.

Along with the release of WKU-SECURE, a new system to register personal devices, such as mobile devices, will make the authentication process much easier while maintaining security on the wireless network
