The achievements keep coming for WKU swimmer Claire Donahue.

The senior finished second nationally in the 100-yard butterfly Friday at the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas.

Donahue’s time of 51.68 seconds set a school record for the event, and her second-place finish is WKU’s highest in any event at the NCAA championships in program history.

Donahue finished fourth in the same event last year.

She’ll round out her performance in Austin on Saturday by competing in the 200 fly, in which she ranks 36th in the nation. Donahue also competed in the 50-yard freestyle on Thursday, finishing 53rd in the preliminaries.

Preliminaries of Saturday’s events begin at 11 a.m., with the finals taking place at 7 p.m.

After 13 events, Donahue’s efforts have WKU ranked 26th in the team standings.
