A spokesperson with the Bowling Green Police Department couldn’t confirm Thursday night whether a suspect had been taken into custody following a shooting at College Suites apartments, 2426 Thoroughbred Drive.

Monica Woods, public information officer with the BGPD, said police will release a statement Friday morning about the incident, which was originally confirmed just after 10:30 p.m.

A black man was shot and loaded onto a stretcher after he was shot, according to a Herald reporter who witnessed the shooting.

The man was holding his waist, said Herald reporter Mike Stunson, who also gave a statement to police at the scene.

Stunson said at least four men were arguing before a gun was pulled out and a shot was fired.

Police at the station declined comment on Thursday’s shooting.
