Bowling Green has a new Mayor Pro Tem: Joe Denning. Former Mayor Elaine Walker was sworn in as secretary of state on Saturday.

A state robotics competition was held in Diddle Arena on Saturday. The event was jointly sponsored by WKU’s math and science departments.

NATIONAL:

The Washington Post has a full list of winners from last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The Pro Bowl was offensive in more ways than one. The NFC beat the AFC in a 55-41 shootout, and two men ran on the field attempting to streak during the game.

St. John’s handed No. 3 Duke its second loss of the season in Madison Square Garden.

Although it’s expected that Bowling Green will see primarily rain, much of the country is bracing for a “historic” snow storm this week.

Speaking of snow, a plow led an expecting mother to the hospital late last week when an ambulance couldn’t make it.
