This month the Public Theatre of Kentucky will be performing “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” said Melissa Ricketts, a director at the theatre.

Showings will be every Thursday in December until Dec. 12, at 7:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

This is the fifth year the theater has put on the play, Ricketts said.

She said the show is unique because all of the actors are Bowling Green residents, including some families.

“The show is really a great reflection of the whole community,” she said.

Due to an increasing amount of people trying out the show, there are two full casts this year, Ricketts said. The separate casts will take turns performing on different weeks.

Tickets for the show are $13 for adults and $10 for students and are available at the theater. She encourages people to call the theatre ahead of time and reserve tickets.

This will be the last big production for the year at the theater, Ricketts said.

The next show will be Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” and starts on Jan. 28, she said.
