BLOG: Texas Tech 70, Lady Toppers 60 (Final)

The Lady Toppers (4-7) return from Christmas break with a home game against Texas Tech at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Texas Tech (11-1) is the first team from the Big 12 Conference’s current makeup to play at WKU since Texas visited Diddle Arena in 1990. Follow along as WKU tries to rebound from its last loss, a blowout defeat at Vanderbilt.

Texas Tech 70, WKU 60 — Final

After WKU took a 54-53 lead, Texas Tech used an 11-0 run to ice the game. Mosley leads all scorers with 20 points, while Mallard leads Texas Tech with 19. Look for more later tonight at wkuherald.com

Texas Tech 58, WKU 54 — 3:53 2nd

Both teams traded the lead before a 3-pointer by Texas Tech’s Teena Wickett gave the Lady Raiders some separation. It’s been a sloppy game today, as both teams have 21 turnovers each.

Texas Tech 51, WKU 48 — 7:26 2nd

WKU has cut its deficit back down to three at the under-8 timeout. Mosley leads the Lady Toppers with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Howard now has 14 points.

Texas Tech 43, WKU 37 — 11:59 2nd

The Lady Raiders get a 6-0 run and once again have the lead. WKU has managed to hang tight despite its 19 turnovers.

WKU 37, Texas Tech 37 — 15:27 2nd

The Lady Toppers have managed to tie this one early in the second half. Keisha Mosley now has 16 points.

Texas Tech 31, WKU 28 — Half

The Lady Toppers finish the first half on a 10-0 run, pulling within three at halftime. Amy McNear and Keisha Mosley scored all of the points during the late burst, and Mosley now leads WKU with 12 points.

Howard has eight points, and it’s been a quiet night for everyone else.

WKU shot 50 percent in the first half, while the Lady Raiders shot 58.3 percent. Both teams turned the ball over 14 times each.

Texas Tech uses a 19-5 run since WKU took the lead to open up a double-digit advantage.

The Lady Raiders’ reserve guard Chynna Brown has scored Texas Tech’s last 12 points. She now leads all scorers.

The Lady Tops took a 13-12 lead with a 9-2 run, but a 3-pointer by Texas Tech’s Jordan Barncastle gives the Lady Raiders the advantage.

Sophomore forward Janae Howard leads all scorers with eight points off the bench, including two 3-pointers.

Texas Tech has used a quick burst to take a six-point lead early in this one. The Lady Tops have made just one of their first five shots and have three turnovers.
